Why George Day Nurseries?

Hi, I’m Sarah and I set up Orpington Day Nursery to offer all children excellent care at an affordable price – exactly what I wanted for my son George – the light of my life!  Since we set the Nursery in 2014 we have welcomed Samuel, who was born in January 2015.

I set up my Nursery because as a parent and a fully qualified Nursery Practitioner, I felt that I had a unique insight into what a great facility I could offer. I trained for my NVQ2 in 2009 and saw a variety of settings that I felt did not offer a high standard of care at an affordable price. Also, I saw many un-happy members of staff as they felt under-valued and this resulted in low morale. Taking all these factors into consideration, I set up Orpington Day Nursery with a view to offering excellent childcare at an affordable and competitive price. Exactly what I, as a parent, would look for. 

My son George who is 5 attends school now and Samuel loves spending time with his friends in the baby room!  When looking at equipment and recruiting staff, I always imagine how I would feel leaving my children to play with these toys, or staying with these staff members. I am 100% happy with all the staff, equipment, environment and food and as a parent, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I set my Nursery up as a Mum as well as a Practitioner. 

Please do come and see our Nursery for yourself and you’ll see exactly what I mean.  We are also welcoming visits out of Nursery hours to acommodate those who work full time and would struggle to reach us during our opening hours.

We liaise very closely with Bromley Council Early Years in the setting up and running of the Nursery and we are also have a membership with the NDNA (National Day Nursery Association). They supply us with all our up to date policies that we are required to have in place, so we are always up to date with current legislation.
